Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences Commences Academic Programs

Chancellor of Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences (MBAHS) and Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Dor Mani Poudel has said that the Province Government has been working to start academic program at the earliest.

Addressing the program organized to inaugurate academic calendar on Monday, he assured to thoroughly implement the upcoming policy and program of the Academy with a focus on academic activities and research works.  

The Chief Minister said that the Academy was established with a view to contribute skilled human resources and would not indulge in any partisan political interests.  
He further added that the plans were afoot to run MBBS classes from the Province Capital in Hetauda itself.

On the occasion, Social Development Minister of Bagmati Province, who is also the Pro-Chancellor of the Academy, Saraswoti Basnet said that the time has come to work for making country self-reliant by developing sufficient health infrastructure in the long run.

Academy’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Bishowraj Joshi pledged to working for the production of specialists and experts in the area of public health, pharmacy, laboratory, and other areas of the medical sector. 

On the occasion, a memorandum of understanding was reached between Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre’s Director Dr Chandra Mani Adhikari and Academy’s Vice-Chancellor Joshi for the treatment of heart disease.

The Academy last month received license from the Federal Government’s Medical Education Commission to run classes up to Bachelor’s Level. The Academy will conduct classes on public health, pharmacy, and medical lab technology from this academic year, according to Academy’s Administrative Officer Amar Adhikari. It has allocated 20 seats in public health, 30 in pharmacy and 30 in medical lab technology.
