Lumbini Technological University Set to Launch Postgraduate Programs

Lumbini Technological University (LTU), established by the Lumbini Provincial Government in July 2022, is gearing up to inaugurate its postgraduate programs in mid-June.

Registrar Reg Bahadur Bhandari confirmed that the university will introduce two Master's degree programs—Master of Technology in Information Technology (IT) and Master of Technology in Computer Science—starting in the month of Ashar (mid-June to mid-July). The university has designated 30 seats in total across both programs.

Eligibility for the M.Tech in IT includes undergraduate degrees in BCA, BIM, BIT, ICT Education, or BBIS, while the M.Tech in Computer Science requires a background in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Since its inception, LTU has focused on STEM education, launching four undergraduate programs in 2024: B.Tech in IT, Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, IT Engineering, and Civil Engineering. Currently, 165 students are enrolled, with the first batch entering their fourth semester.

The university recently relocated to a larger campus, leasing three buildings from the Agricultural Development Bank’s regional office in Dhambojhi, Nepalgunj, under a five-year agreement. The new facility also houses the Dean’s Office for Engineering and Information Technology.

“Our vision is to provide quality, employment-focused education that nurtures socially responsible graduates,” Bhandari emphasized. Launching postgraduate programs within two years of operation underscores LTU’s rapid growth and commitment to advancing technical education in Lumbini Province.
