Laligurans Service Society, a local organization, has initiated a scholarship program for economically disadvantaged students. This program aims to ensure that no student is forced to abandon their education due to financial constraints.
The society has collaborated with Mejenim Secondary School, situated in Khijenim Rural Municipality-2 of Phaktanglung District, to implement this initiative. Under the guidance of Dil Kumar Patangwa, the chairman of the School Management Committee, the society has pledged scholarships to four deserving students currently enrolled at the school.
According to the agreement reached between the Laligurans Service Society and the school, two male and two female students from grades below five will benefit from this scholarship program. Each student will receive an annual scholarship amounting to Rs. 3,000 until they complete grade ten.
If any scholarship recipient discontinues their education, the school will recommend another deserving student to receive the scholarship, ensuring that the support reaches those in need continuously. Furthermore, the Laligurans Service Society has already provided the necessary funds for the current fiscal year to the school, demonstrating its commitment to the cause of education. Additionally, the organization has generously donated sports equipment worth two lakhs to the school, further enriching the educational experience of the students.
