Licensing Examination Notice from Nepal Engineering Council

Nepal Engineering Council has published a notice regarding the application for the Engineering Licensing Examination. 

In Shrawan 2079, the federal parliament approved a bill to amend the Nepal Engineering Council Act, 055, which stipulates that in order to practice engineering, one must receive a license after completing all required coursework up to graduation. There is a requirement to pass the exam in order to obtain a license after finishing engineering courses all the way to graduation. Previously, obtaining the license required graduating from the Faculty of Engineering.

Information for Applicants

Registration form can be submitted by all, who have completed their Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the universities recognized by Nepal Engineering Council.

NOTE: If you do not find your university, your university may not yet be recognized by NEC. Please, Kindly visit NEC Office for further information.

  • Fee for NEC General License Exam Form - Rs.3500
  • The applicant should deposite registration fee in Account No. 1160100001093001 at Rastriya Banijya Bank. Bank voucher must be upload in the online application form.
  • Name Registration Certificate Fee (Fees Have to be Deposited at NEC Account, After passing the exam)
    • Rs 8,000 for Graduated of Nepalese Universities
    • Rs 10,000 for Graduated of Foreign Universities

The applicant should deposite registration fee in Account No. 1160100001093001 at Rastriya Banijya Bank. Bank voucher must be uploaded in the online application form.

Note: Online payment are also acceptable. But, please bring printed copy of the transaction.

Documents Required

  • Mark Sheet of SEE or Equivalent.
  • Character Certificate of SEE or Equivalent.
  • Transcript of 10+2 or Equivalent.
  • Character Certificate of 10+2 or Equivalent.
  • Transcript / Semester wise mark sheet of the bachelor's degree.
  • Bachelor's degree character certificate / Documents showing duration of study.
  • Degree / Provisional certificate of bachelor's degree issued by university
  • Equivalance certificate from authorized agency of nepal government is required for student studied from abroad.(If applicable)
    • SEE
    • 10+2
    • Bachelor's
      • License certificates of two registered engineer issued by NEC.
      • Citizenship. (Upload Notarized only)
      • One Passport size photo.

NOTE: Notarized copy of all the document must be uploaded and submitted.

After Submission

After online submission of documents, applicants are required to submit hard copies of all the documents and original copy of bank voucher.
