The Kathmandu University (KU) and Nepal Policy Institute (NPI) signed an agreement to collaborate in the fields of education and research.
The KU and the Hague-based institute signed the deal at the KU School of Management premises, agreeing to collaborate on joint research, publication, and exchange of researchers, faculty, and students.
Likewise, an agreement was made to mobilize grants to fund joint research in the area of public policy. According to the NPI, the two institutions have agreed to extend support to each party's research initiatives.
Speaking at the MoU signing programme, Vice-Chancellor of KU Prof Dr Achyut Wagle said the agreement would lead to an exchange between the university and the global academic community. “The global diaspora expert network of NPI is welcome to contribute to KU’s academic programmes, either through short-term or long-term engagements,” VC Prof Dr Wagle said.
During the programme, Chairman of NPI Dr Khagendra Dhakal spoke about the institute’s role in strengthening policy research and the think-tank ecosystem in Nepal and abroad. “This collaboration helps Nepali talents abroad showcase and apply their expertise with a focus on Nepal, ultimately benefiting the country through their contributions,” Dhakal said.
