KMC Increases Education Budget for Upcoming Fiscal Year 2080/81

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) released its Rs 25.54 billion budget for the fiscal year 2080/81 on Ashad 10, 2080, Sunday. At the KMC's 13th municipal assembly, Sunita Dangol, the deputy mayor, presented the budget.

KMC has allocated the second-highest amount to education i.e. Rs. 1.32 billion. Rs. 500 million have been set aside for the enhancement of technical education and the promotion of vocational expertise.

The budget has been allocated for the management of one school nurse and one school social facilitator in a public school.

To ensure regular payment of salaries to teachers in public schools within the metropolis, a recruitment fund of Rs. 300 million will be established. This fund has been specifically created to cater to the monthly salary requirements of teachers and ensure a stable income source for them.

A recruitment fund of Rs. 300 million will be set up to provide monthly salaries to teachers. The metropolis has set up a fund for the purpose of providing monthly salaries to the teachers of public schools within the metropolis. Monthly allowance has also been increased for the principals of all public schools.

For students studying in public schools within the metropolitan area, only students up to class 8 are being provided with lunch expenses, From the fiscal year 2080/81, the amount required to provide lunch facilities at the specified rate is based on digital attendance certified records.

Rs. 50 million has been allocated to make the school areas green and beautiful by regularizing and automating cleaning and beautification within the public school premises.
