Kathmandu University has initiated the instruction of the subject 'Computational Mathematics' to foster the integration of mathematics and information technology in academic studies. For a considerable duration, the university has been delivering courses aligned with students' interests and market demands, and recently, it has introduced a fresh course.
The mathematics department of the university stated, "Considering the significant demand for proficient individuals in the field of mathematics equipped with information technology knowledge in both Nepal and the global market, we have endeavored to redefine the study and teaching of mathematics through the Computational Mathematics program." Professor Dr. Rabindra Kayastha, the Head of the department, further emphasized that this program will prioritize not only the in-depth study of mathematics but also the integration of mathematics with information technology to cater to the present market requirements.
As per the university's statement, throughout the four-year duration of this course, students will have the chance to engage in independent work, not just within the confines of the classroom, but also through individual and group projects.
