Kathmandu University on Wednesday launched a new academic programme on organic farming, in cooperation with Chonbuk National University (CBNU) Korea.
The Kathmandu University and Chonbuk National University have today agreed to collaborate to run classes for modern organic farming in Nepal.
The collaborative academic-level partnership programme is being implemented in Nepal with the aim to develop programmes for education on organic farming technology for prospective graduate students majoring in the subject, establish advanced laboratory and needed education infrastructure and provide technical training, among others.
Both the universities target to produce skilled human resources by running classes of Masters´ Degree from this academic year.
The Academy Partnership Programme for Advanced Organic Farming in Nepal is one of the academic partnership programmes between Nepal and Korea and funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency. The Chonbuk University will provide finance, human resources and technology to enhance educational and research capability of KU for the programme.
