Kathmandu Model College, one of the premier educational institutions in Nepal, recently hosted its grand 21st convocation ceremony at Park Village Resort in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu. The event, held on Friday, Mangsir 28, 2081, saw over 150 graduates from bachelor's and master's programs receive their degrees in the presence of distinguished guests and faculty members.

Mr. Rameshwar Aryal, Chairman of Kathmandu Model College (KMC) and KMC Educational Network, chaired the ceremony. The chief guest, Honorable Dr. Anjan Shakya, Member of the National Assembly and former Ambassador to Israel, graced the event with her presence. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Dr. Burggret Phillips, Country Director of Star Scholars Network Austria and Professor at Johnium University of Applied Sciences.

The event highlighted the importance of education in shaping the future of students and the nation. Speeches emphasized knowledge application, nation-building, and global citizenship.

In his address, KMC Principal Mr. Surendra Subedi congratulated the graduates and informed them that they had become their brand ambassadors. He also expressed the college's pride in their achievements and progress. During the ceremony, Mr. Subedi administered an oath to the graduates, symbolizing their transition into the next phase of their careers.

In her speech, the Honorable Chief Guest, Dr. Anjan Shakya, urged graduates to use their skills for the betterment of Nepal, regardless of where their future paths might lead them. “No matter where you go in the world, always remember your roots and contribute your knowledge to the progress of your country,” she emphasized.

Professor Dr. Burggret Phillips encouraged the graduates to merge the knowledge they gained at Kathmandu Model College with their sense of nationalism. “Embrace your education and cultural identity to build a brighter future for yourselves and your nation,” she advised.

Academic Excellence Recognized

During the convocation ceremony, students who had made significant contributions to the college by being part of the Student Quality Circle and various clubs were honored. The event also honored outstanding students for their exceptional academic and research achievements. 

Under the KMC Academic Excellence Awards, the college recognized top-performing graduates with certificates and cash prizes. Winners included:

  • Trisha Agrawal (BBA)
  • Roshani Karn (BBM)
  • Shashi Chaulagai (BA)
  • Sharda Gautam (BBS)
  • Shweta Acharya (MA)
  • Bhishma Bhandari (MBS)

The students received Rs. 20,000 in cash and were awarded awards in each category and certificates.

Additionally, Best Undergraduate Research Awards were presented to:

  • Pooja Gaudel (BBS)
  • Sushita Nyeupane (BBA)

These students were awarded certificates and Rs. 20,000 in cash and were awarded with awards in each category along with certificates.

Also, the Best Postgraduate Research Awards were presented to:

  • Gokarna Ojha (MA)
  • Prashiddha Basnet (MBS)

These students were awarded certificates and Rs. 25,000 in cash and were awarded awards in each category along with certificates.
