Kathmandu Model College Celebrates 20th Graduation Ceremony

The 20th convocation ceremony at Kathmandu Model College in Bagbazar marked a significant triumph. Held on Mangsir 16, 2080 (December 02, 2023), the ceremony celebrated the graduation of postgraduate-level students who completed their studies at the college.

The graduates who completed their studies at this college received their Postgraduate-level certificates. Upendra Kumar Koirala, the chairman of the program and former vice chancellor of Midwest University, presented the certificates to the graduates as the chairman of the college management committee. The program, hosted in the college auditorium and featuring Surkrishna Vaidya as the chief speaker, saw the initiation of 100 students under the executive chairmanship of the Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce.A total of 100 students participated in the program and received their degrees. The ceremony acknowledged students who excelled in various examinations at Tribhuvan University.

Recognizing the importance of research studies, the college presented the "Best Thesis Award" of Rs 25,000 each to Rebika Bhandari of MBS and Yugal Shrestha of MA. Simran Acharya was honored with the "KMC Excellence Award," with a cash prize of Rs 30,000. Additionally, the KMC Academic Excellence Award of Rs 10,000 was bestowed upon Gokarna Ojha (MA), Rebika Bhandari (MBS), Chandni Kumari Jha (BBS), and Shruti Bhattarai (BBA).

The Best Undergraduate Research Award recipients, Monica Lama, Kushal Upreti, Merijan Rai, Naveen Mahato, Shanti Bhattarai, Sanu Tamang, and Aasma Chaudhary, were honored with prize money of 20,000, 15,000, 10,000, and 5,000, respectively.

Chiring Lama, the managing director of Idea Studio, emphasized the importance of innovation for the overall development of students. Kavi Phuyal, the President of the College Alumni Forum, and Prakash Sharma, the program coordinator, also delivered speeches.

Established in 2060 B.S., Kathmandu Model College, affiliated with Tribhuvan University, offers programs such as MBS, MA English, BBA, BBM, BBS, BCA, and BASW. Beyond the university-prescribed curriculum, the college engages in various educational activities and provides training to both teachers and students. College Head Principal Surendra Subedi expressed the institution's commitment to enhancing academic quality and producing globally competitive students.

This year, Kathmandu Model College was recognized as the best educational institution among private colleges nationwide by the Ministry of Education of the Government of Nepal. The convocation ceremony, presided over by IQAC chief Dhruv Prasad Timilsina, was a testament to the college's dedication to academic excellence and overall development.
