Tribhuvan University's Institute of Engineering (IOE) has raised the tuition fees for several programs, with the new fees taking effect starting from the present academic year.
As per the IOE's announcement on the 25th of Bhadra, the tuition fee for BE and B.Arch programs has been revised to 775,720 rupees. For international students pursuing the same programs, the fee is set at 1,599,720 rupees. In the preceding year, foreign students were charged 963,260 rupees for the same level of education.
At present, students from Nepal were being charged 318,880 rupees for that particular level of education. The IOE conveyed that this fee structure is established for the year 2053 and a yearly increment of 10 percent has been approved.
The Dean's Office communicated that the university did not endorse the IOE's decision, stating that the current fee structure is insufficient to sustain the campus operations.
