The National Examination Board (NEB) has confirmed that the results of the Grade 12 annual examination for 2083 will be released no later than Ashar 10.
Controller of Examinations Krishna Prasad Sharma stated that the board is working to publish the results within the 45-day deadline set by the government. "The evaluation and verification of answer sheets have been completed. Staff are working during holidays, mornings, and evenings to expedite the process," Sharma said, adding that the final score-matching and data entry work is currently underway.
This year, the board expanded its evaluation network, setting up answer sheet checking centers at 48 locations across the country to speed up the process. Historically, the earliest NEB had been able to release Grade 12 results was within 70 days of the examination. This cycle marks a significant improvement, with results expected within 45 days. For comparison, the SEE results this year were announced just 29 days after those exams concluded.
A total of 4,18,008 candidates sat for the Grade 12 examination, which was held starting Baisakh 14, 2083. Of these, 3,32,178 were regular candidates comprising 1,72,120 male students, 1,60,137 female students, and 29 others. The remaining 85,830 students appeared under the partial category. Notably, 39 students from Everest School in Japan also participated. Among the districts, Kathmandu recorded the highest number of examinees at 64,338, while Manang had the lowest with only 31 students. In last year's Grade 12 examination, 61.17 percent of students passed.

The National Examination Board (NEB) is on track to publish the Grade 12 examination results within 45 days of the conclusion of the exams, and progress so far has been ahead of schedule.
Just two weeks after the examinations ended, the board has already completed more than half of the result publication process. Controller of Examinations Krishna Prasad Sharma confirmed that over 50 percent of the answer sheet evaluation has been finished. In addition, the mark verification of already evaluated answer sheets has been completed, and the corresponding data has been entered into the system.
Sharma further explained that the board has adopted a streamlined workflow this time around as soon as the evaluation of a subject's answer sheets is complete, re-verification begins immediately, followed directly by computer data entry. This parallel approach has significantly accelerated the overall process.
To further boost efficiency, the board began evaluating answer sheets from the very day the examinations concluded. The evaluation is being carried out across 42 centers nationwide. Sharma stated, "The results will be published within 45 days of the end of the examinations and we are making every effort to release them even earlier."
A total of 4,98,000 students from across the country appeared in the examination this year. The board has also been setting new benchmarks on other fronts the SEE results for 2083 were published within just 29 days of the exams concluding, the fastest turnaround in the history of SEE. Previously, both SEE and Grade 12 results typically took around three months to publish after examinations wrapped up.
