Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education, Department of Education, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur today publishes the list of 167 Model (Namuna) Schools of Nepal.
Model schools are well-resourced and performing schools that provide technical support in terms
of professional development and administrative needs to nearby schools. Schools that are supported to become model schools will be selected on the basis of
- Geographical and demographical spread
- Size of school-going population in catchment areas
- Electricity and internet accessibility, and
- Educational achievements of the school
Community schools can be changed to model schools once they achieve certain minimum facilities and criteria. They will be encouraged and supported to achieve this.
Government of Nepal has planned to select one Namuna (Model) School from each of 240 electoral district. Earlier has asked Community Schools to submit the application to their respective District Education Office within Baishakh 10, 2074.
