As per the Government of Nepal's decision on Jestha 09, 2080, the Council of Ministers has determined to annually observe National Education Day on Ashwin 02. This date marks the ratification of the Compulsory and Free Education Act, 2074. Additionally, the decision made on Jestha 19, 2080 (at the Honorable Ministerial level) concludes that the celebration will take place on Ashwin 02, 2080, Tuesday this year.. Furthermore, the decision includes provisions for Nepal Vidyabhushan, Nepal Technik Vidyabhushan, Nepal Chhatra Vidyapadak, and National Education Award, 2077.
