Gorkha Municipality Launches 'Find Students and Save Schools' Campaign to Increase Enrollment

Gorkha Municipality has launched a campaign aimed at bolstering enrollment in community schools and ensuring that no child remains deprived of education. Spearheaded by Bhimsen Thapa, the chairman of the municipality, the initiative, titled "Find Students and Save Schools," underscores the municipality's commitment to addressing the issue of out-of-school children.

In a recent announcement, Lok Prasad Banjara, the chairman of Gorkha Municipality, unveiled the strategies devised to augment student numbers in community schools. Central to this effort is the effective implementation of plans to prevent children from staying out of school, a pivotal aspect of the campaign.

Chairman Banjara emphasized the municipality's proactive stance in formulating additional measures to enhance the educational standards of community schools. By attracting more students to these institutions, the municipality aims to foster greater confidence in the community school system.

Crucially, the municipality has taken a decisive step by mandating the enrollment of all children in community schools. This directive, rooted in the municipality's resolve to instill trust in community schools, underscores the ethical imperative of prioritizing community education.

Public figures within the municipality, including representatives, employees, teachers, school management committees, and parent associations, have been tasked with ensuring the compulsory enrollment of children in community schools beginning from the academic session of 2081 BS (2024 AD).

Chairman Banjara underscored the municipality's role in delivering quality education and nurturing competent individuals. He asserted the municipality's capacity to provide education of superior quality compared to private institutions, stressing the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in realizing this vision.

As part of the campaign, all wards have been instructed to furnish comprehensive information regarding children enrolled in private or institutional schools to the municipal education department. This initiative seeks to streamline efforts and ensure that no child is left behind in accessing quality education.
