Upendra Yadav, Chairman of the Janata Samajbadi Party, inaugurated the construction of Madhesh Agriculture University on January 22, by laying the foundation stone. Expressing his delight, Yadav underscored the importance of the agriculture university, asserting its potential to boost the economic prosperity of the nation.
"I am optimistic that the skilled workforce produced by this university will play a pivotal role in job creation and contribute to overall economic prosperity," remarked Yadav, affirming his commitment to supporting the construction efforts.
Madhesh Province Chief Minister, Saroj Kumar Yadav, pledged comprehensive cooperation to secure funding for the completion of the project. He encouraged the university community to approach the undertaking with high morale, highlighting its significance for the region.
Former Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut reminisced about the decision to establish the Agriculture University in Rajbiraj during his tenure, now foreseeing it as a source of pride for the province.
Gobinda Bahadur Neupane, Minister for Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives, expressed pride in hosting the agriculture university in Saptari. He emphasized the crucial role of agriculture as a solid foundation for the prosperity of both the province and the entire country.
Providing insights into the university's plans, Dr. Baidyanath Mahato, Vice Chancellor of Madhesh Agriculture University, disclosed that the project involves the construction of 12 buildings, with a total investment of Rs 1 billion. The construction will cover 26 bighas and 8 katthas of land, marking a significant step towards advancing agricultural education and research in the region.
