Beginning with 42 initial applicants, the rigorous evaluation process commenced on January 08, 2024. By February 08, 2024, the committee had meticulously narrowed the pool to 14 candidates, marking a significant progression in the search.
From February 12 to February 14, 2024, shortlisted candidates participated in a series of interviews and presentations, showcasing their visions for Tribhuvan University's future.
An esteemed panel, comprising Prof. Dr. Chandra Bahadur Shrestha, Prof. Dr. Sureshraj Sharma, Education Secretary Suresh Adhikari, and Chandrakala Ghimire, meticulously evaluated the candidates' proposals, guiding the final recommendations.

Since the conclusion of Prof. Dr. Dharmakant Baskota's tenure on July 16, 2023, interim leadership has been maintained under Prof. Dr. Shivlal Bhusal's guidance.
