Dr Taranath Sharma got Prithvi Pragya Award

Kathmandu, Oct 30 (RSS): The Nepal Academy has selected personalities to be awarded for their contributions in the literary field. 

The 23rd general meeting of the NA on Monday selected the names of writers and critics to be conferred with the Prithvi Pragya Puraskar and other several awards. 
Essayist and critic Dr Taranath Sharma will be decorated with the Prithvi award for his decades of contribution in the field of essay, travelogue and criticism. 

The award is given once in four years. 
Similarly, Nepal Pragya Sanskriti Puraskar will be conferred to Dr Bina Poudel Ghimire and Nepal Pragya Bhasha Puraskar to Dr Ramabatar Yadav. These awards are given once in two years. 
The academy has decided to confer other several awards to literary writers. Patron of the Academy and Minister for Culture Jitendra Narayan Dev had inaugurated the AGM.
