Participants at an interaction stressed that the state should take special initiatives to integrate existing two education systems in Nepal.

Executive Chief of International Centre for Academy Amit Giri said the open education would be highly beneficial in the country like Nepal characterised by low literary rate and remote geography. He was speaking at a programme organised by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) here on Saturday.

He further said a new system had been introduced under which people having no time to attend college everyday could fulfill one’s academic pursuit remaining at home.

Meanwhile, to welcome the literary figures from United Kingdom and Canada, a reception programme was organised here today by APEC Nepal. Ms. Jaya Rai and Govinda Singh Rawat, who are residing in the United Kingdom and Canada, respectively have been rendering their remarkable contributions to the development of Nepali literature.

Welcoming the Nepali literary figures, Biswa Bimohan Shrestha, the president of APEC Nepal, lauded the role being played by the two literary icons for the development and promotion of Nepali language, literature and culture since long time from abroad.

He also stressed on the need of joining hands of all the Nepali litterateurs residing in home and abroad for the development of Nepali language, culture and literature.

Meanwhile, according to the sources, an international convention of Nepali literature is being organised in the beginning of July in the Washington D.C, of the United States of America. Likewise, the International Women Litterateurs’ meet is also scheduled in the August in London, the sources added.
