Tribhuvan University Executive Council (TUEC) has named Dr R K Srivastav as the new Dean of the Institute of Medicine (IoM) today.
The TUEC proposed Dr Srivastav for the post on the basis of seniority. The Central varsity decision comes following Prime Minister cum TU Vice-chancellor Sushil Koirala´s directive to appoint new IOM Dean within 24 hours, on Tuesday.
Dr Govinda KC hailed the appointment of Rakesh Kumar Srivastav as new dean at the IoM and thanked the TU for recognising the seniority while making appointment at the top post. Prof Govinda KC, who is on a fourth round of hunger strike from Feb 8
Meanwhile, the ´Save IoM Committee´ has said that their bottom line is to expel ´tainted´ TU Officials,". Dr Binod Pokharel, Coordinator of the Save IoM Committee said that the committee will continue its agitation unless the government expels the TU officials.
