Nepal Medical Council Chairman Damodar Gajurel has tendered his resignation form his post following a pressure from Ministry of Health and Population.
According to NMC source, Health Minister Khagaraj Adhikari was piling psychological pressure to Gajurel for resignation.
Gajurel has submitted his resignation at the Minister for Health and Population on 12 November 2014.
Ministry of Health and Population has accepted the resignation. Earlier on Jan 24, 2014, Damodar Gajurel has tendered his resignation citing non-cooperation from Council member but Minister for Health Bidhyadhar Mallik did not accept his resignation.
Ministry of Health and Population has appointed Dr Jageshwor Gautam as new NMC Chairman. Dr Gautam is working as a chairman of Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, Thapathali, Kathmandu.
