Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ajay Thapa has been appointed as the Registrar of Pokhara University.
The Right Honorable Prime Minister and Chancellor of Pokhara University, Mr. K.P. Sharma Oli, appointed Dr. Thapa based on the recommendation of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bedraj K.C. The appointment was made in accordance with Sub-section (2) of Section 26 of the Pokhara University Act, 2053. Dr. Thapa began his four-year term on Sunday.
Dr. Thapa is currently serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Pokhara University. He has been associated with the university for more than two and a half decades. Beginning his career as an employee, Dr. Thapa later advanced to the positions of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. Over the years, he has held significant responsibilities, including serving as a member of the University Senate, the Executive Council, and the Academic Council, gaining substantial experience in university administration and academic leadership.
He is the sixth individual to hold the position of Registrar at Pokhara University. The four-year term of his predecessor, Prof. Dr. Deepak Bahadur Bhandari, concluded on Baisakh 4, 2082 BS.
