After the impact of cold weather affecting studies in schools in Sindhuli district, warm clothes and educational materials have been distributed to academically struggling and needy students.
The distribution of warm clothes (track suits, sweaters, shoes, and socks) to students engaged in studies has been carried out in various schools in Kamalamai Municipality and Tinpatan Municipality. The distribution in Ghyanglekh Rural Municipality is also in preparation. Ward Chair Mahendraprasad Dhakal of Kamalamai Municipality-4 has informed about the distribution of warm clothes to all students studying at Deurali and Kalika Primary Schools, which are foundational schools in the ward. He further mentioned the ongoing preparation to distribute to all students of primary level Kerabari and primary level Dhande.
"We have been distributing warm clothes to students as they arrive at the school," he stated, highlighting that educational improvement programs, funded through the budget allocated from the ward, include providing warm clothes and educational materials to students for the cold months. The distribution aims to encourage students, particularly those whose parents are engaged in daily wage labor, to attend school after facing enrollment challenges. Ward Chair Dhakal shared this information.
In Kamalamai Municipality-6, 224 students from Navajyoti Deaf Secondary School have received warm clothes for the cold season. Among the students, 52 are differently abled and with various capacities from different districts and are actively engaged in their studies.
The distribution was coordinated with various non-governmental organizations and local authorities, as stated by Ujjwalkumar Thapa, the chairman of the school and ward.
