Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City has decided to bring uniformity in the textbooks of all schools in the city.
Deepak Thakur, the municipal coordinator of the Municipal Education Committee and Private School Association (PABSON), issued a press release today informing about the decision. “Providing equal educational opportunities to students is our priority. This decision will enhance the quality of education and provide an equal learning environment to students,” he said.
He has urged for effective implementation by coordinating with the local education committee and stakeholders. After discussions between PABSON, NPABSON and others, it has been agreed to use the same textbook in private and institutional schools of the city. A statement issued by the Municipal Education Committee states that the selection of textbooks will be based on the curriculum approved by the Curriculum Development Center.
According to Municipal Coordinator Thakur, another press release will be issued next Sunday to make the list of textbooks public. It is stated that the textbooks selected by the Education Committee will be of high quality and in accordance with the new curriculum.
