DAV to Introduce Extensive Experiential Learning from the New Session

Kathmandu: With the successful completion of '5-day Growth Mindset Workshop' for the teachers from the Proteje Group of India, the school also advanced to introduce extensive experiential learning from the academic Session 2020-21.

The '5-day Growth Mindset Workshop' was organized to 150 teachers of Kindergarten, Primary School Middle School of DAV from 26th to 30th December. The School has also Signed MoU with the Proteje Group, the renowned trainers' team to monitor the extensive experiential learning for three consecutive years. They will be visiting the classrooms in regular interval of time and will be organizing training to ensure the changes. The school will also observed rigorous research within this period. 

Addressing the inauguration Ceremony, the Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia motivated the teachers to adopt the changes and suggested them to learn and re-learn and hoped that that such rigorous training will certainly help them to manage classrooms teaching and learning better and meet the expectation of the parents and children. 

The Principal appreciated the job accomplishment of all the teachers and briefed that training is all about re-inventing their potentials and making their task easy and comfortable. The parents from Kindergarten to middle school were also invited to attend the training which was designed for better parenting. Some enthusiast parents actively participated in the training and solved their queries with the trainers.  

The trainers of '5-day Growth Mindset Workshop' were Chief mentor Mr. Goel S. Godi, Mr. Parag Gandhi and Mr. Mohan Venkatesh Palani. On the first day, the teachers were introduced with experiential learning and facilitate teaching. 

From the second day, the workshop focused on delivering 20 processes involved in ensuring experiential learning. The trainers talked about the role of teachers should be facilitator in implementing experiential learning. Both parents and teachers were attracted at witnessing cultivating good academics habits, effective parenting skills and 3DEE Framework of Facilitative Teaching designed by S. Godi  which focused on engaging, educating and empowering the students. Mr. Godi has also developed CFP (Classroom Facilitation and Practioner) course to the teachers. 

The trainers claimed the learning from experiencing to sharing increseses from 60% to 99%. The traditional teaching methods (hearing and seeing) has chances to reflect learning from 10 to 20% according to Mr. Godi.

On 4th Day the training was focused on transactional analysis whereas on fifth day the trainers focused on emotional intelligence.
