Curriculum Development Center's Appeal for Implementation of New Curriculum in Grade 11

Director-General, Mr. Keshab Prasad Dahal of Curriculum Development Center has requested its stakeholders to implement the Grade 11 new curriculum from this academic year. However, HISSAN has not accepted the request for implementing the curriculum citing issues like lack of preparedness and a teacher.

Respecting the view, Mr. Dahal informed about preparing and modifying the curriculum implementation over time. Speaking on the program, he said, "We will teach the child new things, not old ones." We will improve it, so I urge not to be in any dilemma and implement a new curriculum. '

Commenting on the program, HISSAN Chairman Ramesh Kumar Silwal informed that the new curriculum should not be implemented under any circumstances. "In the current situation, there is no possibility of implementing a new curriculum in class 11," he said. Chairman Silwal stressed that the curriculum should not be implemented in the present situation. He added that the curriculum should be implemented only after two years of testing. 

Ritu Sapkota, Chairperson of N-PABSON, said that the curriculum should be accepted if it has incorporated new contents.

Mr. Herambaraj Kadel, Principal of Vishwa Niketan Secondary School, said that the government should not be in dilemma in the implementation of the curriculum as it was prepared by a group of curriculum experts. He further clarified COVID-19 situation should not stop for making change and expressed his views to ready to implement the curriculum.

Education Expert, Bimal Kumar Phuyal said that no one should be reluctant to implement the approved curriculum. He believes that the students will not be in trouble while implementing the new curriculum as the methods of assessment, learning materials and teaching methods have fixed itself in the curriculum.

The new curriculum of class 11 has been prepared by planning an action plan in 2075 BS. Director-General Dahal informed that the curriculum is changeable thus will change and modify as time passes.

"We have decided the teaching method and evaluation method in the curriculum itself. The ability of the child has been assessed, 'Director General Dahal said, 'If schools choose for curriculum-centered teaching, the scope of thinking will naturally widen. Curriculum-centered teaching should be done, not a books-centered.” He added.
