Curiouswe wrapped up "The Entrepreneur's Guide For Beginners 2.0" on July 28, 2023, culminating a week-long entrepreneurial workshop with a high point – the Startup Idea Pitch Competition.
This event achieved extraordinary success, uniting Nepal's top 24 entrepreneurs, attracting 50 registrations for startup ideas, presenting 16 captivating pitches, drawing 200 participants and over 1000 visitors from 50+ colleges in Kathmandu Valley, and partnering with 12 media outlets, all reflecting an amplified entrepreneurial spirit this year.
The workshop comprehensively covered essential entrepreneurship topics: ideation, validation, marketing, market segmentation, targeting, positioning, finance, legal considerations, and social impact. Attendees were enriched by the genuine experiences and challenges shared by accomplished entrepreneurs who've left a significant mark in their domains.
Emerging as the victor in the Startup Idea Pitch Competition was team JOD, a social enterprise empowering street shoe menders. The first runner-up position was claimed by team Shabdamrit, with team The Map securing second runner-up.
Curiouswe's Outreach Team achieved a remarkable feat, orchestrating sessions by prominent figures on each workshop topic. The speaker lineup included Ajit Bikram Shah, CEO of Lotus Holdings, who opened by discussing entrepreneurship's essence. Surendra Chaudhary, Regional Manager of WorldLink Communications, highlighted Product Development and Marketing on day two. Bigyan Gupta, CEO of Pedal Group Pvt. Ltd., provided insights into Market STP on the third day, while Swastika Rajbhandari, Founder of Kaasthakala and Thriftbank, delved into Management, Team & Operations on the fourth day. Dolraj Poudel, an experienced Chartered Accountant, illuminated Financial Modelling & Terms on day five, followed by Santosh Pandey, Co-founder of Offering Happiness and Oho Cake, on Pitching, Fundraising & Product Launch on the sixth day.
Post-workshop, participants readied to present startup concepts to judges, entrepreneurs, investors, media, and students, with the Curiouswe team skillfully curating the top 16 teams from over 50 ideas within a tight three-day timeline.
During this pivotal event, 16 dynamic ideas were passionately pitched. This gathering became Nepal's grandest platform for entrepreneurs, where business luminaries ignited motivation through their stories.
The judging panel featured Shakti Golyan, Chirag Goyal, Pratik Kunwar, Juna Mathema, and Bigyan Gupta. Furthermore, a panel discussion enriched the event with insights on Nepal's entrepreneurship landscape, including Niraj Kafle, Hemant Puranik, and Resta Jha.
Esteemed guest speakers, including Chiri Babu Maharjan, Pawan Golyan, Kiran Timsina, Dr. Santosh Upadhyay, and Evana Manandhar, inspired participants with their wisdom.
The Curiouswe team's vision materialized as renowned entrepreneurs graced both the workshop and concluding event, leaving participants enriched.
