CTEVT Warns Against Unauthorized Practical Training in Nepal for Foreign Health Students

The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has issued an urgent notice regarding Nepali students pursuing health-related diploma and certificate programs from foreign institutions.

According to CTEVT, it has come to light that many students are conducting their practical training in hospitals and health institutions within Nepal without prior authorization from relevant authorities. This practice has created significant issues in the process of granting equivalency for their foreign qualifications.

To address this, the council has announced that students who complete their studies by May 14, 2025 (end of Baisakh 2082) may still apply for equivalency β€” but only if they submit all required documents as per Schedule 4 of Regulation 30(2) of the Equivalency Guidelines 2080.

However, students who undergo practical training in Nepal after this date without official approval will not be granted equivalency. For such cases, only those who provide formal documentation, such as logbooks, internship request letters, memorandums of understanding (MOUs), and internship completion certificates, proving their practical training was arranged through their foreign institution, will be considered for equivalency.

The notice serves as a reminder to students, parents, institutions, and related stakeholders that equivalency must be secured from CTEVT before applying for professional registration, which is subject to the standards of each respective professional council in Nepal.
