The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has released an important notice for students applying to pre-diploma and diploma/certificate level programs for the academic session 2082/083. Published on 2082/04/11 (July 27, 2025), the notice addresses the ongoing online application process, selection criteria, and crucial regulations regarding training fees.
Online Application and Merit-Based Selection Emphasized
CTEVT has reaffirmed that student admissions will be strictly based on a merit list derived from applicants' Secondary Education Examination (SEE) GPAs. The entire admission process, from online application to result publication, is handled by software to ensure transparency and fairness.
The Council has also issued a strong warning against individuals or groups attempting to mislead students with false promises of securing admissions. "This system is organized, transparent, and predictable," stated the notice, urging all students, parents, and stakeholders to "be cautious of any false promises or fraudulent activities from anyone."
Strict Fee Regulations for Private and Partnership Institutions
The notice also outlines specific training fees for key programs in private educational institutions:
- Certificate Level Nursing: Rs. 4,75,000/-
- General Medicine: Rs. 4,04,000/-
- Pharmacy: Rs. 3,37,000/-
A significant directive for educational institutions operating under a partnership model is also included: they must charge at least 30% less than the fees set for private institutions.
Action Against Overcharging
CTEVT has urged students and parents to report any instances of overcharging. If an institution is found to be levying fees higher than those specified (as per Schedule 5 of the Council Office's Annual Report 2080/81 and the decision of 2078/05/04), complaints can be lodged in writing at the Council's Provincial Offices or the Central Office. The notice explicitly states that "action will be taken as per the prevailing regulations of the Council" against any institution found to be in violation during monitoring and inspection.
Students and guardians are encouraged to refer to the official CTEVT website or contact their offices directly for accurate information and to report any irregularities.
