Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training today decided to publish its result in letter grading system from the new academic session.

Office of the Controller of Examination has already decided to publish the results of School Leaving Certificate exam in letter grading system from this year.

MoE had decided to give nine grades to the SLC graduates based on the scores they achieve in the exam.

A meeting of the Curriculum Council under CTEVT, chaired by Education Minister Girirajmani Pokharel, today decided to implement the grading system while publishing the result of students studying in academic institutions under CTEVT.

The categories of the grades, however, are yet to be finalised.

According to Ramhari Lamichhane, member secretary of CTEVT, the meeting has decided to publish the result between four and six grades. The meeting also decided to form an expert committee to study the type of grades.

He said, “The type of grades will be finalised after the recommendation from the expert committee.”

He further said the grading system would be implemented from mid-July. The meeting said any SLC graduates who wants to study various subjects under Health in Diploma level will require at least C grade in SLC exam.

The SLC graduates with C grade need to have at least 2 GPA and 40 to 50 per cent marks as per the previous system.
