Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training has finalized criteria for enrollment of students in diploma level.
CTEVT offers 15 to 18 months Technical School Leaving Certification courses on 48 subjects such as health, engineering, agriculture, entrepreneurship and social mobilization, while it offers three-year diploma courses in 33 subjects such as health, engineering, agriculture, forestry, tourism and others.

Students securing at least 2.0 in average securing 'C' grade on compulsory English, Mathematics and Science are eligible to study technical subject.
The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has made this arrangement to those students willing to study health related subjects in Certificate or diploma level.

CTEVT member secretary Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane said, 'we have made arrangement of allowing those students willing to study health related subjects in the entrance exam if they have secured 'C' grade in English, Math and Science".
A student with at least 'C' grade can attend the entrance exam of different health related subjects including PCL nursing, medical lab technology, pharmacy, ophthalmic science and dental at CTEVT's constitutent and affiliated organizations.
According to the new provision, those securing 'C' in English, Mathematics and Science and 'D' and 'E' in the rest of the subjects in SLC exams can choose to study any subjects for further studies besides health.
In addition to the health related subjects, those with 'D' and 'E' grade can opt for biomedical engineering, auto mechanical, architectural engineering, information technology, electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering, survey, civil engineering, hotel management, diploma in forestry, diploma in food and diary technology, animal science, crops science and the like, shared Ramesh Bakhati, Chief Administrator of CTEVT.
CTEVT has put in place a provision wherein he who secure 'D' and 'E' as an overall score in the SLC exam can take up technical SLC known as TSLC which means the SLC examinees can study TSLC irrespective of the grade they secure.
According to chief administrator of CTEVT, Bakhati, the existing TSLC programme with 15, 18, and 21 month course will be made 18 months. Even the literate ones above 15 year can take one-year of vocational training from the CTEVT.
