​ Criteria for enrollment in Bachelor Degree programs in Nepal

National Education Board (NEB) published the result of Grade 12 on Shrawan 17, 2075 (August 2, 2018). Currently, admissions are ongoing on various Universities of Nepal. In order to get enrollment in Bachelor level, Universities have changed/revised their eligibility criteria or requirements according to letter grading system introduced by NEB.

Students who have secured minimum D+ grade in all the subjects of Grade 11 and 12 are eligible to study General/ Core subjects whereas students must have secured minimum C or C+ grade in all subjects of Grade 11 and 12 are eligible to enroll in Technical/Applied subjects.

Prospective students seeking a Bachelor’s degree in different faculties must meet the given mentioned criteria for enrollment. Here is the list of programs offered by different universities of Nepal and their revised/changed eligibility criteria. 


1.    Bachelor of Arts (B.A)/ Bachelor of Social Works (BSW): Tribhuvan University (TU)

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) / Bachelor of Social Works (BSW) are three years program offered by Tribhuvan University under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Any candidates who have completed 10+ 2 or equivalent securing minimum D+ grade in all subjects of  Grade 11 and 12 are eligible for admission in BA / BSW programs of Tribhuvan University. 

2.    Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA): Tribhuvan University (TU)

PCL or + 2 passed with minimum 40% marks  or 2 CGPA (not less than D+ in single Subject).

3.    Bachelor of Education (B.Ed): Tribhuvan University (TU)

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is a three years program of Tribhuvan University under the Faculty of Education.

Students who have completed 10+2 or equivalent examinations securing minimum 'D+' grade in all subjects of Grade 11 and 12 are eligible to enroll in B.Ed program of Tribhuvan University.

4.    Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), B.SC. CSIT/, and B.Math.Sc (Actuarial Science): Tribhuvan University (TU)

The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), B.SC. CSIT, and B.Math. Sc (Actuarial Science) are four years course of Tribhuvan University under the Institute of Science and Technology.

The candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examinations with Minimum 'C'grade in all subjects or Second division to enroll in Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), B.SC. CSIT, and B.Math. Sc (Actuarial Science) programs of Tribhuvan University.

Prospective students should appear in the entrance examination for B.SC CSIT and B.Math. Sc (Actuarial Science) conducted by TU and they are enrolled according to the merit list.

5.    Bachelor of Engineering (B.E): Tribhuvan University (TU)

The Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) is a four years (8 Semesters) course of Tribhuvan University under Institute of Engineering (IOE).

 The students who have a minimum score of  45% or 'C' grade in each subject of 10+2 (physical group or biological group with two paper mathematics) or 45 % in Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent course can appear in the entrance examination conducted by Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering.

6.  BBA, BBM, BIM, BPA, BHM, BTTM, and BMS: Tribhuvan University (TU)

BBA, BBAM, BIM, BPA, BHM, BTTM, and BMS are four years (8 Semesters) programs of Tribhuvan University under the Faculty of Management.

According to the Faculty of Management, students who have secured grade ‘D+’ in all the subjects of 11 and 12 or a minimum score of second division marks in 10+2, PCL or Equivalent in any discipline are eligible to get admission in BBA, BBAM, BIM, BPA, BHM, BTTM, and BMS programs depending upon their CMAT scores. 

7.    Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS): Tribhuvan University (TU)

Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) is a four years course of Tribhuvan University under the Faculty of Management.

Students who have scored a minimum D+ in each subject of 10+2 are eligible to study BBS in Tribhuvan University.

8.    Bachelor of Engineering (B.E): Pokhara University

The Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) is a four years (8 Semesters) course of Pokhara University under the Faculty of Science and Technology.

Students who have completed 10+2 Science /Diploma in Engineering or Equivalent with minimum 45% or "C" Grade in each subject of Grade 11 and 12 are eligible to appear in the entrance examination of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) conducted by Pokhara University.

9.    B.Sc Nursing, BPH, and B.Sc MLT: Pokhara University

B.Sc Nursing, BPH, B.Sc MLT are four years (8 Semesters) programs of Pokhara University under the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Students who have secured minimum 50 % in aggregate or 2.4 CGPA and minimum C+ grade in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and minimum C grade in other subjects are eligible to appear in the entrance test for B.Sc Nursing, BPH, B.Sc MLT programs conducted by Pokhara University. 

10.    Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharma): Pokhara University

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) is a four years (8 Semesters) program of Pokhara University under the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Students must have secured minimum 2.4 CGPA or 50 %  in aggregate or minimum C+ grade in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics (PCB/PCM) and minimum C Grade in other subjects are eligible to appear in the entrance examination conducted by Faculty of Health Sciences, Pokhara University.

11. B.Sc Nursing and Bachelor of Physiotherapy: Kathmandu University (KU)

B.Sc Nursing and Bachelor of Physiotherapy are four years course of Kathmandu University (KU) under Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS).

The candidate must have completed 10+2 year of education or equivalent qualification with minimum 50 % in aggregate or 2.4 GPA and minimum C+ grade in Physics, Chemistry and Biology separately and minimum C in other subjects to appear in the entrance examination conducted by KUSMS for admission in B.Sc Nursing and Bachelor of Physiotherapy. 

12. B.Sc Nursing: Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS)

Students who have completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with Minimum 50% or 2.4 CGPA are eligible to appear in the entrance examination for B.Sc Nursing at Patan Academy of Health Sciences.

13. Bachelor of Engineering (B.E), Agriculture, Forestry, B. Arch, BCA, BIT, PBN, B.Sc Nursing BPH and B. Pharma: Purbanchal University

Students who have secured minimum C+ grade in aggregate and minimum C grade in each subject in 10+2 or equivalent examinations can appear in the entrance examinations in order to get admissions in these subjects.

14. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc ) in Agriculture: Far Western University

Students who have completed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 50 % or 'C+' grade are eligible to appear in the entrance examination for admission in B.Sc.Ag. program of Far Western University.
