Corruption case filed against 24 officials of Pokhara University

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Tuesday lodged a corruption case at the Special Court against 24 officials of Pokhara University including  Vice-Chancellor Khagendra Prasad Bhattarai for embezzling university fund.

The anti-graft body issuing a statement has accused them of misusing the fund while providing college affiliation, in the name of transportation in spite of the vehicle provided by the office, providing illegal donation, misappropriation of university fund apportioned for infrastructural development, consultancy among others .

The commission has charged the 24 accused as per Sec 3 of Prevention of Corruption Act 2002 and a total of Rs. 22.41 million in fine has been sought  from the subsequent accused .
