The Private and Boarding Schools' Organization Nepal (PABSON) has concluded its 15th National General Assembly, advocating for legal assurances to ensure schools operate in compliance with the existing laws applicable to corporate entities.
A 10-point manifesto known as the Dhulikhel Declaration was issued during the assembly. In this declaration, passed during the meeting held in Dhulikhel on the 2nd and 3rd of Chaitra, emphasis was placed on Bill 2080, designed to amend and consolidate laws related to school education, ensuring that schools registered as companies adhere to corporate laws.
The announcement underscores the need to create an enabling environment for the smooth operation of privately and publicly managed schools, promptly and efficiently addressing issues outlined in relevant laws governing private and cooperative institutions.
PABSON's declaration also underscores the constitutional recognition of investments from the governmental, private, and cooperative sectors as crucial sources of economic development, ensuring forthcoming legislation guarantees uninterrupted continuity.
Furthermore, PABSON's statement highlights the facilitation of technical education studies, the issuance of teaching permits, and approvals for educational institutions equipped with sufficient infrastructure and personnel under private investment, focusing on promptly resolving issues observed in higher education through collaborative efforts with private educational institutions.
According to the declaration, private educational institutions operating under private investment are expected to enjoy full autonomy, except concerning national curriculums, examinations, and evaluations.
PABSON asserts its official representation in various educational committees, subcommittees, boards, and task forces established by the state, alongside mandatory participation in international-level activities such as conferences, seminars, and symposiums to ensure global engagement.
