Community Schools Monitored and Adjusted for Improved Educational Landscape

In Kanchanpur, the local authorities have initiated the process of managing and adjusting schools. The district comprises 57 community schools spread across nine municipalities. Bheemdatt Municipality has stated its intention to oversee school management based on a forthcoming report resulting from on-site monitoring.

Kalawati Mishra, the head of Bheemdatt Municipality's Education Branch, reported that continuous monitoring of community schools is underway. "On-site evaluations have been conducted for a total of forty schools," he mentioned. "This process has provided insights into student numbers, school conditions, and the distances between schools." He emphasized that decisions regarding school adjustment and management would only be made following the completion of the report.

Likewise, Shuklaphanta Municipality has already conducted evaluations of community schools, aiming to make adjustments in the year 2079. Suresh Prasad Bhatt, Head of the Education Branch, explained that no decisions had been reached due to the ongoing academic session in 2079. "Out of the 32 community schools, three to four are slated for adjustment," he stated, "and a dedicated task force has been established for this purpose." He added that the actual adjustments in the municipality would take place in 2080.

Dodhara Chadani Municipality in Kanchanpur has already completed adjustments in public schools. Haridatta Joshi, head of the education branch in Dodhara Chadani, disclosed that one community school has been reorganized. "In Dodhara Chadani, 23 community schools have been adjusted to 22," he shared. "Corresponding adjustments have been made in Darbandi." Belladandi Rural Municipality has formed a 12-member working group to oversee adjustment tasks under the coordination of the social development committee coordinator. Bhanubhakta Joshi, head of the education branch, explained that the task force has submitted a report to the municipality chairman, and decisions are pending approval from the chairman and the executive committee.

Deepak Kalouni, Head of the Education Development and Coordination Unit Office, mentioned that one school in each of Bedkot and Dodhara Chadani municipalities in Kanchanpur has undergone adjustment. Currently, a total of 259 community schools are operational in Kanchanpur.
