As the annual exams come to a close, community schools have announced a temporary suspension of classes until the final results are published. During this period, students are staying at home while teachers diligently work on preparing the exam results.
Meanwhile, institutional schools have already begun gearing up for the upcoming academic session, which is set to commence on the first of Baisakh. In a bid to attract students, advertisements are being broadcast on social media platforms. These institutional schools are bustling with activity as they meticulously plan for the new academic programs. However, despite some community schools conducting home-based programs as part of enrollment campaigns, many remain relatively silent.
In an effort to bolster parental confidence in the educational activities of community schools, several institutions have opted to collaborate with parents to develop educational programs. One such exemplary institution is Resh Nuntala Secondary School, which acts as a unified entity in organizing educational programs every academic year. Prior to the commencement of each academic session, a collaborative effort involving teachers, students, parents, and social workers takes place to meticulously plan educational programs.
Situated in Kathekola Rural Municipality-7, Resh, Resh Nuntala Secondary School is currently immersed in the preparations for the upcoming academic session. While the school is temporarily closed following the conclusion of annual exams, various discussions and interactions are underway to lay the groundwork for the new session.
The responsibility of conducting these discussions lies with the school's management committee, which also actively engages in dialogues with teacher-parent associations. School Principal Om Bahadur Thapa expressed, "The school aims to chart a course forward for the new academic session by involving everyone. It's easier to achieve our goals when there's collective effort."
Thapa underscores the importance of integrating practical aspects into educational programs, advocating for parental involvement to impart practical knowledge alongside the curriculum. He emphasizes that focusing solely on the curriculum is not the school's sole responsibility. Therefore, the school encourages parental participation in discussions to ensure a holistic educational experience for students.
The school's initiatives are aimed at bolstering educational activities and enhancing student learning outcomes. Furthermore, the school has launched campaigns to visit homes, engage with various communities, meet with parents and stakeholders, and foster discussions and interactions to enrich the educational environment.
