Community School Students to Receive One Thousand Rupees in Bank Accounts

The Municipality of Tanahun has decided to establish bank accounts for students enrolled in community schools, ensuring a minimum balance of one thousand rupees starting from the upcoming academic session 2081.

This initiative, spearheaded by Mayor Shukra Chuman, aims to attract more students to community schools and elevate the quality of education. A savings account program has also been launched to incentivize enrollment in these schools further.

Mayor Chuman announced, "This program, slated to commence in the 2081 academic session, is designed to offer specialized assistance to present and future students." He expressed optimism that the initiative would enhance the appeal of community schools and foster a culture of savings among students, contributing to their holistic development.

Furthermore, the Municipality has set objectives to integrate student earnings from educational and vocational programs into savings, allocating an initial budget of approximately 25 lakhs. With 35 community schools and nearly two thousand students within its jurisdiction, the Municipality is committed to enhancing educational standards.

In a recent meeting chaired by the Principal of a community school, it was resolved to make enrollment in community schools mandatory, targeting the children of teachers and staff. This would raise educational benchmarks and bolster public confidence.

Starting from the upcoming academic session, children will be obliged to enroll in community schools, and teachers and staff will be required to enroll their children in the 2080 academic year. This decision reflects the Municipality's determination to spur improvements and address concerns regarding returns on investment.

Chairman Chuman expressed confidence that this measure would garner widespread support and contribute significantly to enhancing educational standards and public trust in community schools.

Moreover, the Municipality has made provisions for representatives, staff, teachers, and their children to enroll in community schools, ensuring access to transportation, health insurance, and work leave benefits for parents of students attending these institutions.
