Commencement of Eleventh Grade Studies in Janaki Rural Municipality, Banke

In Banke's Janaki Rural Municipality, the initiation of 11th-grade education marks a significant milestone this academic session. Despite its proximity to Nepalgunj, this rural area has commenced the 11th-grade curriculum at Janaki Secondary School, located in Ward No. 4 of the rural municipality, focusing on science education.

Principal Lakshman Acharya reports an enrollment of thirteen students, with only eight attending classes regularly. Three teachers have been assigned to facilitate the education process, and six of the thirteen students are female.

Principal Acharya expressed, "We have been striving for many years to introduce 11th-grade classes, and we have finally achieved this milestone." The classes are conducted with the support of Janaki Rural Municipality, which provides a monthly salary of Rs 40,000 to the appointed teachers. The school has a total of five teachers at the secondary level and three at the lower secondary level, catering to approximately 400 students.

Krishna Kumari Bhandari, the Head of the Education, Youth, and Sports Branch of Janaki Rural Municipality, anticipates an increase in student numbers once the 12th-grade classes commence next year. This marks the first instance of 11th-grade studies being offered in the rural municipality, which houses a total of 39 schools, including madrasas and gurukul schools. Among these, there are 14 madrasas, one gurukul, and six institutional schools.
