The decision has been made by the headmaster, teachers, and staff of the schools within Tanahun's Anbukhaireni Municipality to enroll their children in community schools. The meeting of the headmasters of the schools within the municipality has decided that starting from the upcoming academic session, it is mandatory for the headmasters, teachers, and staff to educate their children in community schools.
Nirmala Kunwar, the Chief of the Education Department of the municipality, shared this information to enhance the educational level and positive message of community schools. She stated, "This decision will be implemented in the new academic session."
The campaign to enroll in community schools in the municipality started in the educational session of 2079, initiated by the representatives of the municipality. The headmasters and teachers jointly decided on this campaign along with the representatives. The Chairman of the municipality, Shukra Chuman, mentioned, "Representatives have already enrolled their children in community schools in the previous academic session. Teachers have also supported this initiative. This is a historic step."
The municipality has advanced the campaign for the transformation of community schools into educational institutions in the educational session of 2080. Chuman, the Chairman, expressed that for the improvement of community schools, the management of physical infrastructure, effective financial management, program implementation to enhance the education quality, etc., are being carried out.
There are 35 community schools in the 6 wards of Anbukhaireni Municipality. Around four hundred students are currently studying in these schools. The municipality has also introduced policies to provide incentives to families sending their children to community schools. Additionally, free health insurance has been arranged for the families of Ward 4, 5, and 6, where children study in community schools. Chuman, the Chairman, mentioned, "The plan to increase attraction in community schools, along with the provision of free health insurance, has been implemented."
The municipality is also preparing for the distribution of buses to community schools under the grant. In the first phase, three to five schools will receive bus transfers. The budget allocated for the community building for mothers' groups will be spent on the improvement of the schools instead of the budget for the construction of a new building.
