After discovering the fake academic certificates of an active teacher, a case was filed in a special court today. Sunita Upadhyay Paudel, a working teacher at Balmandir Secondary School, Vyas Municipality, Tanahun, faces legal action after her educational credentials were found to be counterfeit.
The Anti-Corruption Commission issued a public notice acknowledging the discovery of the forged certificates following the misuse of authority during the certificate verification process. The teacher, Paudel, had submitted bogus academic qualifications from high schools in Varanasi, India, to the Secondary Education Examination Board. After her appointment to the teaching position at the primary level and third category, following the presentation of these fraudulent certificates, the commission registered the case.
The commission has filed an accusation under Section 16(1) of the Corruption Prevention Act, 2059, requesting punitive action for the confirmed offense. The case has been lodged in the special court in Kathmandu on Falgun 29, 2080.
