Bharatpur Metropolitan City Unveils Pioneering Mayor Program Engaging Students

Bharatpur Metropolitan City has launched a distinctive initiative called the 'Mayor Program with Students' to bridge the gap between students and local governance. This groundbreaking program was inaugurated by Metropolitan Mayor Renu Dahal at Janaki Secondary School in Ward 27 of Bharatpur, marking a significant milestone in the region.

The primary objective is to gain insights into students' perspectives, expectations, and concerns related to local governance and public service delivery. Throughout the current financial year, the program aims to facilitate direct communication and interaction between students and local authorities in selected model schools. Mayor Dahal emphasized that the initiative seeks to uplift student morale, improve the quality of education, and promptly address educational challenges.

Recognizing substantial investments in school infrastructure development, Mayor Dahal indicated a shift in focus towards tailoring educational activities to meet students' needs. Bharatpur Metropolitan City places a priority on practical and technical education as a complement to traditional learning methods. During the program, students raised concerns with Principal Dahal about the underutilization of existing infrastructure in an organized manner. Narendra Kumar Rana, the Chief Administrative Officer of Bharatpur, underscored that the program is designed to impart practical knowledge about local governance, aligning with the local curriculum's emphasis on understanding the roles of chiefs, deputy chiefs, and people's representatives.

The 'Mayor Program with Students' signifies a significant advancement in integrating educational development with local governance in Bharatpur. By fostering direct communication between students and local leaders, the program not only aims to enhance educational quality but also empower students with practical knowledge of civic responsibilities. Bharatpur Metropolitan City's innovative approach sets a promising example for other regions, emphasizing the crucial role of student involvement in shaping the future of local governance and education.
