Ban on Political Activities within Schools by Siri Jangha Rural Municipality

The Siri Jangha Rural Municipality in Taplejung has imposed a ban on political activities within schools, aligning with the National Framework of Operation Guidelines issued in 2068, impacting educational sectors within the municipality.

The municipality has decided to strictly enforce the directive, prohibiting the formation of political parties or politically affiliated organizations, assemblies, meetings, conferences, and other political activities within or around the school premises. This decision, in accordance with the policy and program of the fiscal year 2080/081, aims to curb political activities in the educational sector, emphasizing the need for a clear arrangement.

In a recent announcement, the municipality reiterated its commitment to maintain peace within the educational sector by preventing any interference or influence from groups targeting schools, students, teachers, staff, or school management committees. The decision also addresses potential disruptions such as forceful closures, violence, intimidation, and threats.

The municipality has released information highlighting the urgency of adhering to the decision, urging local bodies, schools, political parties, politically affiliated organizations, and educational stakeholders to cooperate in implementing the ban to create a peaceful and child-friendly educational environment.
