The Education Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City has urged institutional schools in the metropolitan area to rename schools reflecting Nepalese identity.
Today (Chaitra 21, 2080), the Education Department of the metropolitan city issued a public notice urging institutional schools under the metro area to rename schools reflecting Nepalese identity.
The metropolitan city recalls the provision requiring schools to rename schools reflecting Nepalese identity per Rule 154(1) of the Education Regulations, 2059 (with amendments) and Rule 70 of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City School Education Management Regulations, 2074.
As most of the institutional schools in the metropolitan area have not adhered to this arrangement, a notice has been issued for contacting the Education Department within seven days from the publication date to initiate the original naming process.
If the original naming process is not expedited within seven days of contact, including halting student enrollment processes, legal actions in accordance with the law will be initiated, as mentioned in the notice published by the Education Department of the metropolitan city.
Proposed names for schools will be decided by the School Management Committees. Within 35 days, a request must be submitted to the metropolitan city.
