Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) held its fifth convocation ceremony on Asar 6, 2083 (June 20, 2026), in Rampur, Chitwan, conferring degrees upon eligible graduates who had successfully completed their academic programs. The ceremony marked an important academic milestone for students graduating from the university’s bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral (PhD) programs in agriculture, animal science, forestry, and related disciplines.

The convocation was held under the chief guestship of Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel, who also serves as the Chancellor of the university. According to University Registrar Dr. Subir Singh, a total of 2,193 graduates received degrees during the fifth convocation ceremony.

The ceremony highlighted the following key details:

  • A total of 1,836 students graduated with bachelor’s degrees, 327 with master’s degrees, and 30 with PhD degrees across various faculties and academic programs.
  • Since its establishment, the university has produced 5,906 graduates at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.
  • The highest number of graduates, totaling 3,014, are from agriculture-related programs.
  • Across all faculties and programs, the university has so far produced 4,408 bachelor’s graduates, 1,426 master’s graduates, and 72 PhD graduates.
  • The university continues to contribute to the development of skilled human resources in agriculture, forestry, veterinary science, and allied sectors that are vital to Nepal’s economic growth and food security.

Established 16 years ago in Rampur, Chitwan, the Agriculture and Forestry University was founded on Asar 3, 2067 BS (June 17, 2010) by upgrading the former Rampur Agricultural Campus, a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University. The university has since emerged as one of Nepal’s leading institutions for agricultural and forestry education and research.

Congratulating the graduates, university officials encouraged them to apply their knowledge, research skills, and professional expertise to modernize Nepal’s agriculture sector and contribute to sustainable national development.
