Agreement Between Confederation of Industries and University of Nepal to Connect Education with Industry

With the primary aim of linking education with industry, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and the University of Nepal.

The signing ceremony was held at the CNI office on 2025/05/07, where Dr. Suryaraj Acharya, Registrar of the University of Nepal, and Dr. Ghanshyam Ojha, Director General of the Confederation, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

CNI President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal stated that the production of skilled manpower is the need of the hour. While many possess academic qualifications, he emphasized enhancing skill-based learning. He expressed confidence that the University of Nepal, which has been established under a new concept, would contribute to producing skilled manpower. He also affirmed CNI’s commitment to connecting University of Nepal students with the industrial sector and believed that the university would transform traditional educational programs.

Vice Chancellor of the University of Nepal, Dr. Bindu Lohani, said that the Confederation should support the university in providing internships for its students in various industries to promote experiential learning. He mentioned that the University of Nepal continues to offer skill-oriented education, which he noted as the current necessity.

The university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Arjun Karki, announced that programs will be introduced to foster skills, entrepreneurship, innovation, and good values in students. As the university progresses under a new concept, he emphasized the need for collective support to make it successful.

CNI’s Senior Vice President, Birendra Raj Pandey, said the Confederation will collaborate with the University of Nepal in areas such as industrial experience, curriculum development, innovation, and research.
