The Government of Nepal has assigned interim vice chancellor responsibilities in several universities to ensure the continuation of academic and administrative operations following vacancies in the posts.
The decisions were made by the Right Honorable Prime Minister in the capacity of Chancellor of the respective universities on Baisakh 30, 2083.
At Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Sushil Bahadur Bajracharya, Dean of the Institute of Engineering, has been given the responsibility of Acting Vice Chancellor following the vacancy created after university office bearers were relieved through an ordinance.

Similarly, the government has entrusted Prof. Dr. Bishnu Raj Tiwari of the School of Health and Allied Sciences with the responsibility of Vice Chancellor at Pokhara University until a new appointment is made. He has already assumed office.

At Kathmandu University, Prof. Dr. Hrishikesh Wagle has been assigned the responsibility of carrying out the duties of Vice Chancellor until further appointment.

Similarly, the government has once again entrusted Prof. Dr. Biju Kumar Thapaliya with the responsibility of Vice Chancellor at Purbanchal University. He had previously served in the role and was credited for contributions in academic improvement, administrative strengthening, infrastructure development, and the advancement of the MBBS program at the university.

Likewise, Prof. Dr. Vidya Sagar Verma has been entrusted with the responsibility of Vice Chancellor at Rajarshi Janak University.

Further, Mid-West University, has Prof. Dr. Narayan Prasad Paudel appointed as Interim Vice Chancellor. Rt. Honorable Prime Minister and Chancellor has assigned Prof. Dr. Paudel (former Registrar of MU), the responsibility of Vice-Chancellor until a new appointment is made to the vacant position at Mid-West University.
At Far Western University, former Registrar Prof. Yagya Raj Pathak has been entrusted with the responsibility of Interim Vice Chancellor.
In a series of leadership updates across universities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manik Ratna Shakya has been appointed as the Acting Vice Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU). Dr. Shakya transitions into the executive role from his position as Dean of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, a department widely considered the academic and cultural cornerstone of LBU.
