56.82 Billion Budget Allocated to Education Sector for Next Fiscal Year

The National Planning Commission has earmarked a substantial budget of 56.82 billion rupees for the education sector in the forthcoming fiscal year. This decision comes following deliberations with representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.

Sources within the ministry have revealed that the Commission has increased the budget allocation by 52 crore rupees compared to the previous fiscal year, indicating a concerted effort to bolster educational initiatives.

However, despite the increase, concerns have been raised regarding the adequacy of the allocated funds. According to sources, there is an anticipated shortfall of 23.77 billion rupees needed to meet the minimum requirements for educational endeavors in the upcoming fiscal year.

In response to this shortfall, discussions are underway with the National Planning Commission to explore avenues for augmenting the budget allocation to bridge the gap and ensure the smooth functioning of educational programs nationwide.

Furthermore, deliberations are also ongoing to determine the budget allocations for provinces and local levels, underscoring the comprehensive approach being taken to address the educational needs of the country.
