Softwarica College of IT and E-Commerce, which offers Coventry University programs in Nepal, has graduated 400 students. The college held a convocation ceremony on Saturday at the Hyatt Regency, honoring the recent graduates of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
During the ceremony, Campus Chief Pramod Paudel highlighted that the graduates are prepared to be self-sufficient. He remarked that although students may have relied on their families for financial aid up to this point, they are now ready to handle their own financial responsibilities.
"From now on, students will no longer need to rely on their families for financial support. The skills they have acquired at the college will enable them to make economic progress wherever they go," he said during the event.
Inspiring the students, he noted that challenges frequently lead to new opportunities. He elaborated that Softwarica College was founded to address different challenges. He also encouraged students to give back to Nepal, even if they seek opportunities overseas.
Similarly, Dr. Reda Al Bodour, the deputy head of the School of Science at Coventry University, spoke about the significance of the convocation ceremony and the graduates' journey ahead. He acknowledged the hardships students overcame to reach this milestone.
"Convocation signifies the triumph of students over all obstacles. This journey would not have been possible without the support of parents and mentors," he stated.
The program featured the Honorable Indira Rana Magar, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, as the chief guest. She urged students to impact their country positively, pointing out the vast opportunities available in Nepal while stressing the importance of contributing to society and the nation.
"Our society is diverse. You, as students, don't have to live abroad to find work there. You can engage in global opportunities from Nepal," she stated. "However, effective time management is crucial. In today’s globalized world, you must function like an 'army' to succeed."
The convocation ceremony featured attendees from Coventry University, Softwarica Colleges, parents, and students. The college highlighted that a majority of its alumni have attained self-reliance.
