Krishna Prasad Adhikari Elected President at 16th National General Convention of PABSON
A-Levels 2025

Krishna Prasad Adhikari, the founder and principal of Valley Public School, has been unanimously elected as the president of the Private and Boarding School Organisation of Nepal (PABSON) at its 16th National General Convention held in Praya Pratishan, Kamaladi, Kathmandu. Prior to this, Adhikari was engaged there as Vice President of the PABSON.

The two-day convention was inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Oli on Monday, March 10, 2025. In the event, Oli urged private schools to invest confidently, stating that the Constitution has guaranteed property rights. He urged the private sector to exercise the right to property by remaining within the legal framework, ensuring quality education, and contributing to producing skilled and competent graduates.

Expressing his surprise at the proposal to bring private schools under Guthi within the next five years, Oli pointed out that the investment made by the government alone is not sufficient, due to which investment from the private sector is also needed to produce capable citizens. He also cautioned against aiming to make excessive profits from investments in education.

Similarly, Adhikari also outlined his plan to play a role in including school issues in the School Education Act.  Stating that private schools haven’t lured students, Adhikari reminded that if government schools were good, students would choose to enroll there spontaneously. In the event, he also shared that private schools have not forced students to admit by holding their hands. He opined that parent’s decision to admit their children by paying fees is the respect for private schools.

The convention is a significant event focused on electing new committee members to lead the organization forward. The main topic for the event discussion was Charting the Future of Private Education in Nepal.
