Gorkha Municipality is one of the 11 municipalities in Gorkha District of Gandaki Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 52,468, comprising 24,257 males (46.2%) and 28,211 females (53.8%), with a literacy rate of 80.8%. Spanning 121.86 square kilometers, Gorkha Municipality exhibits the population density of 431 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 14 wards.
According to the latest publicly available report of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Gorkha has 64 schools. Of these, 14 are private and 44 are public.
